Boomer Takeaways

65 Years Strong

At 97 and 87, Michael and Joan have spent nearly seven decades side by side. Sixty-five years of marriage is no small feat—and when asked their secret, their answer was both simple and profound.

“It’s Jesus,” Joan said with quiet certainty.

A Faith That Held Them Together

For Michael and Joan, faith has been the steady foundation under every chapter of their love story. Through all the highs and lows, their commitment to Christ—and to one another—kept them anchored.

“We’re really followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord,” they shared. “We pray together. We pray for our family, for our country. We help each other through ups and downs.”

They made it clear that marriage hasn’t always been easy. But prayer, trust, and grace have carried them through.
