Every year, Ursula Bannister, 79, hikes up a mountain in Washington state to honor her late mother. The summit is where her mother’s ashes were spread, making the journey deeply personal.
This year, tragedy struck. Bannister fell and broke her leg in three places, leaving her stranded on the mountain with no way to get down.
